Life is a lot like jazz...
it's best when you improvise.
- George Gershwin
Allan Jozy is a Belgian composer, producer, and pianist. His music lives at the crossroads of contemporary classical, jazz, and cinematic sound, often balancing fragility with structure and silence with intensity. Besides his own projects, Jozy also writes commissioned work for feature films where he's know for drawing inspiration from ethnic musical traditions and instrumentation.
In 2023, Jozy released his debut solo EP Rubble on his independent label Mas Que Nada. The EP was written in response to the bombing of the theater in Mariupol and became a musical reflection on the vulnerability of children in times of war. Dark and dissonant at times, Rubble also offers moments of hope and resilience.
His second album, The Time We Are Given, continues this reflective approach, with delicate piano lines, a string quartet, and electronic textures guiding the listener through a journey on the nature of time, presence, and connection.
With the release of his third album Quiet in 2025, Jozy turns inward. Scored for piano and string quartet, the album is his most introspective work to date—a meditative exploration of silence, tension, and the unspoken spaces between notes. The music invites the listener to slow down and rediscover beauty in simplicity and restraint.
In addition to composing and producing music, Allan Jozy also performs live with his Jazz Quartet, offering yet another facet of his multifaceted musical identity.
